Who I am

About Andrea

I'm so glad you're here.

Though I’ve been writing for many years, Memories of Me is the first time I’ve opened my poetry to the world. It’s a deeply personal collection that shares glimpses of my experiences from heartbreak, healing, and hard-won resilience — a journey I know many will recognize in their own lives.

In my everyday life, I’m a Clinical Nurse Specialist with a master’s degree in nursing, certified in gerontology, and also a health and nutrition coach. My career in healthcare has been devoted to nurturing others — holding space for people in their most vulnerable moments. That same care lives in my writing.

Originally from New Brunswick and now rooted in British Columbia, I’m a mother to a vibrant 5-year-old daughter who reminds me daily of what strength, curiosity, and joy look like. Life has shaped me in unexpected ways —  toxic relationships, the grief of multiple miscarriages, single parenting, but within each moment of loss I’ve also discovered something unshakable: the power of transformation.

Poetry became my quiet refuge — a place to tell the truth free of judgment. Each poem may also resonate with you different depending on your own unique experiences. Each poem in Memories of Me is a reflection of that process: of facing pain, finding purpose, and healing from within. I hope my words offer you connection, comfort, and maybe even the courage to explore your own story.

As a mother, nurse, and new author, I welcome you into this space with an open heart. Thank you for visiting. Whether you are here for inspiration, healing, or simply to explore, I truly hope my poetry meets you exactly where you are.
